Lions Roar! February 21-24, 2012

The Varsity Boys performed very well at the State Tournament. They did not bring home any trophies, but they already are #1 in our book. Special recognition to Bradley Betak, who played his last game for the Lions and has been a true leader all year long.

PSIA takes center stage this week. Our students will be traveling to Giddings on Friday. Please read any notes from Ms. Fischer about details for the day. Students not involved will be supervised by Mrs. Betak and myself on Friday. PK-K is not affected by this event.

MAGAZINE INFORMATION went home Friday. Kathy Woods is the fundraiser coordinator. There will be additional information going home later about online ordering. This is a new company for us, but they are Christian based and are very excited to work with our school. REMEMBER THESE FUNDRAISERS HELP US MEET NEEDS FOR THE SCHOOL THAT WOULD OTHERWISE HAVE TO BE COVERED BY TUITION FUNDS. Participation is vital to our programs and plans for continuing those programs.

BRODIE BACHMAYER won the prize last week for BOXTOPS. Don't forget to turn them in! Our next drawing will be on Thursday at Chapel. (Chapel has been moved due to a funeral on Wednesday morning.)

Twelve students earned the right to attend Sky Ranch this summer thanks to the generosity of a Milam county donor. Congratulations!

Wednesday is ASH WEDNESDAY so we will start having Lenten meals along with Wednesday night services. Meals will be available at 6:00 and the service begins at 7:00. Prepare for Easter by participating in Lent.

We will be holding two more interviews tonight for next year's Kindergarten class. The two we talked to last week were EXCELLENT and I even had a chance to meet two of the candidates over the weekend. Keep this process in your prayers.

National Lutheran Schools week is the first full week of March. The theme this year centers on the word "equipped". One of the activities the students have enjoyed in the past is a career fair. So I am looking for volunteers to meet with a small group of kids and share your job or hobby with them. This event will be held on Thursday, March 8.
